Important
Points:
MYS player evaluations are mandatory. If there
are extenuating circumstances we will try to accommodate by having players
participate in another age group evaluation session (this must be at an age group
above the players age group), but this will be the exception. We do not hold
separate make-up sessions. Please contact
MYSTRAVEL
if you are absolutely unable to attend evaluations for any reason.
Placement on the travel teams is primarily based on the player evaluations. Therefore it is important for your child attend. In addition to the player evaluations, if your child is on a road team in the U10 through U13 age group, they will be evaluated playing with their current team this spring on one of the last few weeks of the season. We also look at their current coach’s evaluation of a player when compiling the teams for next year. More details
Players are placed on teams and then a coach is chosen based on the players on that team. If anyone is interested in coaching a travel team, please fill out the coaching application available on our website.
The U9 teams will be balanced, meaning that teams will be put together so they are equal. There will be no “A” team. At this age group, skills are still very much being developed and placing players on an “A” team is premature and can result in a false assessment of a player’s ability. Our focus at this age is on developing the child's ability and passion for soccer. The U10 teams may also be balanced based on the results of the tryouts. As outlined in MYS policy age groups may be combined to allow every child
who wanted to play travel soccer for MYS the ability to be placed on an
appropriate team.
For example: some U11 players may be combined with U12 players.
As outlined in BAYS policy U13/14 age group, next year’s 7th and
8th graders, is a combined age group (U14). Again this is
per the BAYS league guidelines. Please refer to the above travel team Q&A
for further explanation on this age group.
In an effort to respond to questions/comments in a timely manner and organized fashion MYS is requiring ALL TRAVEL TEAM QUESTIONS are addressed to MYSTRAVEL@gmail.com ONLY. TRAVEL PLAYER REQUEST FOR REFUND
All refund requests for a season must be postmarked or submitted electronically prior to the following dates to receive the specified refund:
FALL SEASON
- BEFORE Players age group's tryout date: A FULL REFUND WILL BE ISSUED
o (minus a $10 processing charge)
- BETWEEN tryout date and June 30: A REFUND OF 75% WILL BE ISSUED
- ON or AFTER July 1st: A REFUND OF 50% WILL BE ISSUED
- ON or AFTER August 1st: NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED
SPRING SEASON
- 14 calendar days AFTER the spring travel registration is closed (late December): NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED
