Hang a Sign on the New Turf Field

MYS is offering field signs for the new turf field. The turf field is a focal point to MYS’ 1,200 players and 800 Mansfield families,
to the general Mansfield community, Mansfield business park local business as well as surrounding towns who play on the field.

Hanging a business sign or personal sign will NOT go unnoticed. Hundreds of people will notice your sign as they walk the sidelines
of the games and practices.  Signs will hang for 2 seasons and during the Columbus Day tournament (see picture below), the
exposure can’t be matched. In addition, as a sponsor you are supporting a youth non-profit, fully volunteer organization.

PLEASE consider being a MYS sponsor.

Synthetic Turf Field and newly renovated grass fields in FULL use over the Columbus Day weekend 2011.   111 teams enjoyed a great weekend playing on new fields and well rested older fields as a result of MYS meeting its goal of installing a synthetic turf field.  As promised the complex will be renovated field by field now that MYS has the turf field to off load heavy soccer traffic and foul weather play.

Letter from Kelly Kemp:

October 16th, 2010 our Fields of Green committee stood before many community members and youth soccer members to celebrate the opening of the new synthetic turf soccer field at Plymouth Street.   During the past 4 years, the support from our community has been tremendous and opening day was no different.

Yes it was 4 years ago in the spring of 2007 that our committee started laying the foundation for the Fields of Green project.    Our committee kicked off by defining the “face” of Fields of Green as the next generation with a renewed vision for Plymouth Street complex.  It became clear early on that our committee was a group of dedicated, passionate, motivated and proud people who worked well as a team.  There is no doubt in my mind that this project would not have been successful without them.  Many thanks to Carol Judge, Gina Melton,  Julie Cline and Matt Sullivan for their continued drive to raise funds towards a project which promotes healthier and more positive life styles for the youth of Mansfield by renovating the badly deteriorated recreation fields.

There are extended committee members who were also instrumental in achieving this project.  Once we moved from the fund raising phase of the project to the financing and construction phase Walter Wilk and Kent Bongarzone stepped up huge.   Again dedicated and passionate people who worked diligently and professionally towards the common goal for the Mansfield community.

It is important to also recognize the MYS Board of Directors as they contributed to the earmarked FoG funds by finding creative ways to reduce operating expenses.  They worked harder to make the tournament even more successful contributing more funds to FOG.  They dealt with counting pennies for 4 years and they supported the FoG committee in every way possible.

Of course I cannot stop just yet, we must shout out a thank you to our MYS members who for years have heard and responded to the constant call for support.  We had kids step up and give their own money to FoG and families donating their time to fundraising events.   We had the generous support of many family businesses.   And of course we had tremendous support from our local businesses, corporate and financial partners.     Mansfield is truly lucky to have such generous and supportive business partners and community members.

Lastly Mansfield Youth Soccer has been honored to have the support and guidance of the various town departments while working to achieve such an important community project.

As you can tell this project was a success because of COUNTLESS contributions from so many. I am looking forward to watching many great soccer games played on the new turf field and the renovated natural grass fields in the coming years  Thank you to all.
