Mandatory Concussion Training
Coaches are expected to take an online concussion training course and submit the certification of completion to MYSregistrar@gmail.com. This certificate is good for three years and you will have to retake the training. Certification id will be attached to coach records and reported to BAYS. Click on BAYS icon above to enter training.
Zero Tolerance Policy
MYS strongly values and enforces the Zero Tolerance Policy defined by BAYS. MYS is confident our coaches and parents will teach by example how to appropriately react and handle the difficult situations which stem from an exciting and competitive soccer game. Click on BAYS icon for more information.
Enforcing Zero Tolerance
MYS policy for an official Zero Tolerance report from BAYS is clear cut meaning if MYS receives an official report the following is not negotiable:
- The Coach is suspended for one game – this includes if the ZT is against parents on your team.
- If the ZT is against an assistant coach then the offending coach is suspended for a game
- A written letter of apology to the referee and organization is required by BAYS
- Second official report within a full season (Fall & Spring) ends with dismissal of the coach for the reminder of the season.
- An official report is a written report filed by the game center referee to BAYS.
- BAYS requires -MYS president must take action within one week.
- Unofficial reports will be handled by intown/travel director and do not necessary result in suspension.
If you feel that there are certain areas that need to be addressed you can fill out the form and it will go to our ref assignor and he will be able to address the situation as he feels fit.
Please submit a request to coach a travel team before the end of the spring season. It is MYS policy that players are placed on teams first then coaches are reviewed and assigned teams.
Just a reminder of a new feature on the BAYS Website for coaches. Should you wish to make a comment positive or negative relative to a game your team participated in or wish to give comments about the performance of the referee, you have the ability to do so. Click on clipboard icon to enter feedback. You must login to the BAYS website via the Unified Login.
Once logged in, a menu entitled “BAYS – Coach” will show up in the left hand navigation column. Currently the only item on that menu is “Game Feedback” Click on that and you will be presented with games to choose from. Select the game you wish to enter a comment on and a feedback form will display. If the feedback type selected is sportsmanship, the form routes to the BAYS 2nd VP, Referee feedback routes to the BAYS referee representative. You can optionally add “share with club” in which case Sportsmanship feedback routes to both Club Presidents as well as the BAYS 2nd VP. For referee feedback, the home club referee assignor is added.
Note – only coaches of the teams involved in the game have the ability to use this function. If you click on the link and no games show up, it is because the user has not been assigned as a coach to that team. Other individuals (spectators, players, relatives) that wish to offer comments are requested to route their comments through either their coach or their club administration.

Yes MYS travel has complied a very informative and comprehensive document to guide travel coaches through a season.
BAYS travel team coaches are required to present a coach’s passcard before each game. Not all referees ask for the cards each game but it the responsibility of the MYS coach to produce if asked.
New Travel Coaches
Please upload your picture through the coaches portal then notify MYSTravel@gmail.com that your picture is loaded and is ready to be printed. Please be sure your picture is uploaded as portrait and not sideways. You may need to change the orientation of your picture then upload again in order to get the picture to show as portrait. Once MYSTravel completed the printing of the cards you will be notified and pick up will be either at the coaches meeting or left at the concession stand for pick up the morning of opening day games.
Coaches who lost their card
Send a request to MYSTravel@gmail.com requesting a new card be printed for you. Cards will be printed (from existing uploaded picture) and either distributed at the coaches meeting or left at the concession stand for pick up the morning of opening day games.
Coaches of MTOC teams
Any U12 or U14 or U16 team in Div 1 or Div 2 for the spring season will need the player passcards.(U18 only D1 teams) MYS travel registrar will contact you over the winter months to ask for you to get all team player pictures uploaded to your coaches portal. Pictures must be uploaded in portrait orientation. Once complete please notify MYSTravel@gmail.com so those cards can be printed. Distribution will be at the spring coaches meeting but it is up to you to make sure all pictures are uploaded in plenty of time for the cards to be printed.

ATTENTION ALL INDOOR SOCCER PARTICIPANTS:
All MA Youth Soccer member towns are in an insurance program sponsored by MA Youth Soccer.We have been reminded by MA Youth Soccer that the insurance coverage that is in place for Mansfield Youth Soccer’s insurance coverage during the spring and fall season does not extend to indoor soccer. In the past it has covered coach’s, but it no longer covers our coaching staff for indoor soccer. If you coach indoor soccer, you will not have coverage through our program.
